WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

After we practised mixing colours we tried painting using the watercolour technique. We learned how to use a little bit of paint and more water to make areas look lighter. You have to put light colour first when you use watercolour paints.

I have also painted a picture of the Worm's Head at Rhosilli in Wales where we went on holiday. We walked quite a long way across to the island and had to hurry back before the tide cut us off. We saw an amazing sunset. I used the photograph to remind me what the scene looked like.

  1. I really like your watercolour Libby you have created really effective shading on your fruit, and a lovely shadow too. I will send you some ideas to help develop your watercolours, try to take inspiration from else where in your award to create more paintings, like from your Oragery sketches or the photographs that you have taken.

  2. I love your watercolour painting of Worm's head, Libby. You have created a real mood with your use of colour and shading. It makes me want to go and visit there! Margaret
