CHALK PASTEL MYTHICAL CREATURE IN A DREAM SETTING

I have looked at some paintings by the artist Marc Chagall and used them to inspire a piece of work about dreams. I have created a mixed up dream landscape by mixing up different areas (sea, desert, farmland). I designed a mythical creature based on two animals that I like and admire; an owl (known for wisdom) and a honey badger (known for courage). I named this creature "animus scientia". The creature is going to be floating across the landscape, a bit like the horse in the Marc Chagall painting.

 

 

COMPLEMENTARY COLOURS IN LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS

Inspired by the work of the nineteenth century German artists Paula Modersohn-Becker, I created this landscape painting using acrylic paints. I concentrated on using complementary colours (in this case orange and blue) to create a more dramatic effect. Here is my mood board.
